The swish pattern is a technique to replace unwanted habits with desired ones. To use it, you must identify the trigger that makes you make the undesirable habit (e.g., seeing your computer screen with many tabs open) and create a picture of it. Then, it would be best if you made another illustration of how you want to be instead (e.g., working on your project with focus and enthusiasm). Next, you need to switch the two views: quickly shrink the trigger picture and move it to the bottom right corner while expanding the desired image and moving it to the center. Say “swish” as you do this. I like to use the word switch. Repeat the swish or switch several times until it becomes automatic and effortless. Finally, test the result: consider the trigger and notice what happens. You should see the desired picture and feel motivated.
