Well it is a new year, is it a new you Yet?

We have now entered the year 2014 and I have a question for everyone. Who all made a new year resolution? I’m positive everyone will answer yes, but how many of you actually plan to achieve that resolution? Not very many according to different statistics.  A good percentage of the people who made a resolution for the new year, whether its weight loss, get a job, or going after that special someone or something that you’ve wanted to attain will not follow through with it throughout the course of the year. According to Psychology Today the average person will stay on top of their resolution for the first two weeks of January but once February rolls around people start to stray away and progress turns into retrogression.

Did you know that during the month of January is when most people sign up for a gym membership? Spending up to $2000 a year in membership fees just to cancel them in March, There are many ways to reach your goals I will give you a few pointers later on in this blog. Also getting organized is a big new year resolution people make which leads to disappointment and frustration. After receiving the first pile of mail and forgetting you set it on the table to go through later. Saving money is a big one for most people, they tell themselves they are going to save up money, but they always get to a point where there’s just something they have to have and end up breaking the piggy bank. New years resolution are never an easy task to complete, but they aren’t impossible.

I have found through past experiences of being a therapist and coaching clients that setting a foundation of daily personal goals is a much better way to reach and achieve your higher levels of success every day should be like a road map so it is not so daunting and you can reach your goals with ease if you apply the daily rituals. Your brain doesn’t like to be disappointed but each and every time you set a new years resolution, or any type of resolution with a deadline that isn’t reality your ego becomes damaged and you start to try a little less. This causes more and more disappointment causing you to eventually give up and go back to what you were doing originally. We here at Deeper States offer a way to make sure you achieve what you want for the new year while having fun, and meeting people who have the same desire to achieve.

A few ways to stay on track with your eating, did you know if you use a smaller plate it will make you feel as if you get full much faster, if you park at the end of a parking lot you are using energy to get from your car to the door and back which causes you to burn calories instead of looking for the spot closest the door and burning 0 calories, get off the couch! A great way to save money is to start a auto deposit in to an account you do not have easy access to, remember a small amount will build and be more then you had to start with, after 3 deposits you will not even think about the money. Tips Trick and Tools are a fun way to keep you in tune with your long term goals.
